Anne Jones, CEO of ASH Australia, speaking at the inaugural retail seminar on tobacco in the retail environment
About 80 people from the Tobacco Control community across New Zealand joined us on Thursday 29 September 2011, at the Kingsgate Hotel Wellington, for the first ASPIRE2025 seminar − Point of sale displays and beyond: The next steps for tobacco control in retail settings.
The Keynote Address was delivered by Anne Jones, CEO of ASH Australia, who shared insights from the Australian experience of removing tobacco retail displays. Following this, ASPIRE2025 members gave a series of rapid-fire presentations about research and views on the next steps for tobacco control in the New Zealand retail environment. There was lively discussion and thought-provoking questions throughout the day, and we’re excited about the prospects for similarly high levels of engagement across the sector at future seminars.
Anne Jones was interviewed by Kathryn Ryan on the Radio NZ ‘Nine to Noon’ show.
